Injection Molding process is for manufacturing low to high-volume plastic parts. Injection Molding takes plastic in the form of pellets or granules and heats the material until it melts. The material is then forced into a mold, where it is allowed to cool and harden into the desired shape. The mold is then opened, and the part is removed or "ejected" at which time the cycle is repeated. The per part cost is very low relative to other manufacturing processes. |
