Fusion and High Speed CNC

General Pattern employs a variety of technologies to enable us to provide Rapid Tooling and manufacturing services that best address your application requirements in terms of accuracy, aesthetics, physical properties, delivery and cost. The following table summarizes the differences between each of the technologies and how they address various applications.

Rapid Steel
Fusion
High Speed CNC

Rapid Steel tools have the strength and hardness properties superior to those of aluminum tools and are highly thermally conductive. Rapid Steel tools have wear characteristics similar to those of traditional steel tools and are particularly effective for complex geomentries, including those that would be difficult or impossible to machine using traditional methods.

Cutting edge technology enables Fusion injection tools to match the characteristics and thermal properties of steel tooled parts, yet cost is 35% to 40% less. Production runs up to 20,000 shots can be expected without compromsing product quality. Any part made of filled and unfilled engineering thermoplastics, thermoset resins and rubber materials can be produced with Fusion tools. Plating, hardening and texturing capabilities accommodate virtually any product characteristics desired.

Utilising global capacity General Pattern can now deliver unrivalled lead times for CNC cut tools with its 'Follow the Sun' technology. Your job is run 24 hours a day on 3 different continents ensuring the fastest possible production times.
